I find it funny that Steve Jobs criticizes Bill Gates for not inventing anything. What did Steve Jobs “invent”? Consider that the personal computer and mouse, and GUI were all being worked on by the big brains at Xerox Park, long before Jobs toured the facility and famously got his stroke of genius that lead to the Macintosh. Siri is military grade tech re-purposed. Jobs didn’t “invent” anything with iTunes. Napster blazed the trail; Jobs just made it legal, and scaled the concept. He also didn’t invent the MP3 player. But he did make it look awesome, and we all wanted those little-white-status-symbol headphones back in the day, didn’t we? Maybe Steve’s most significant accomplishments weren’t as an “inventor”, but he sure did know how to tweak, and hack. And he was a brilliant marketer. Anyway, I just find it kind of funny. That is all.
